FrostWire 5 is the torrent only version of FrostWire, and the numbers that follow represent version and release numbers.

Current, if you go to http://frostwire.com will be 5.3.4

In my sig line, you will find a link to my help pages, where I discuss various FW concepts and issues.

Over and over I see questions in the form of: How do I add X to my Y player? FrostWire does offer a different interface, which may or may not fill your need, but files downloaded are still files and can be handled the same way, for your player, whatever it is, by utilizing the same techniques you always have used. And this can vary from product to product.

The key is to knowing WHERE these files are so you can manipulate them to be loaded into your players play list. This is simple to discover. Go to Tools>Options and >BitTorrent and look at the Torrent Data Save Folder. This is where FrostWire is loading received files.

Whatever you have done in the past to load data from a folder, you should be able to do now, to load data from your FrostWire receive area.

Or you can use the FrostWire player. I personally use Winamp and VLC and configure play lists all of the time.

There is also an option under Tools>Options>iTunes that you can turn on. Since I don't have iTunes, I don't know what it does, but if you use iTunes, it makes sense to have it on, I'd guess.

It makes for great good sense. The files can be moved to Itunes manually but it's a pain in the, um, fingernail, to do so.

Torrents are great! I've got my bit torrent app, I will use my Pirate Bay and things are fast as ever downloading, DISCOGRAPHIES!!!
WTF!!
Frostwire is supposed to be for my INDIVIDUAL SONGS that I like, (TO NOT have to download the whole album to get).
Yes, I am aware that I can deselect songs from the albums I don't wish to download. But really!!??
I'm just saying. It's too bad, basically no more Frostwire.

I love it that Gnutella, then inefficient forerunner of file sharing, has been replaced by torrents. Why would I want to down load 50 songs (or shows or chapters - whatever) one at time when I can download one torrent one time and get them all?

There is a FrostWire - one that allows more efficient organization and effective transfer than ever. I used to get so frustrated, looking for good copies of what I wanted, now, I can select torrents, read reviews and make a much more informed decision. With torrents, the good ones bubble to the top and can almost be harvested, where, old style gnutella, you had to hope you were getting a good copy, and you could never be sure.

Times have certainly improved.

and if you remove "Torrents" from the selected file types FrostWire is able to find individual files as well, so not sure what you're complaining about. FrostWire will list the individual files matching your query, you as an user don't need to be concerned if it's coming from a .torrent. The idea is that it should all be transparent.

My operating system is Windows 7 64-bit, and I am unable to install Frostwire 5.3.6 as an update from Frostwire 5.3.5. The .exe files downloaded from the website, but will not initialize installation upon clicking. Please advise.

Let's go generic, first.
The basic check list for FrostWire problems include:
Now, assuming you done that and it's no go: use revo to uninstall frostwire.
Here is a portable version of Revo: http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/ ... r_portable
NOW: (for Win7. Other systems will have similar files)
From file explorer, navigate to use c:\users\YourAccount (assuming your system drive is c:\")
    and delete the folders: .frostwire5.
Now, Download FrostWire, again, from http://frostwire.com
Reinstall the newly downloaded version and hope for the best.

Still i cannot open Frostwire latest version on my iMac with Lion installed, all latest software updates and Java also updated. Any insight on when this problem (since version 5.3.4) will be solved...?

Thanks

I just downloaded 5.3.6 but I can't get the Search button to work, or even the Google search button. I am using an Apple iMac running OSX Snow Leopard. Frostwire has always worked well previously. I checked all preferences, couldn't see anything obvious, (but I'm not very techie!) also shut program down and relaunched, still no good. Any ideas, please?
