No video or audio with FLV player

Postby 1031 » Thu Mar 22, 2012 9:55 pm

I've spent too much time trying to figure out the problem without success. I've downloaded files and am trying to play them with FLV, but they won't. I've tried playing with other programs without success. And I've tried converting them to different formats. I updated FLV and don't know what else to do. Some things I've downloaded play fine, but these, which are AVI won't. Part of one file is ".Voted.Off.HDTV.XviD-FQM.avi" Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

If you have the latest version of VLC, then I'm going to guess that you have a corrupted or poison download. I'd upgrade my VLC if I didn't have the latest version, and if I did have the latest version, I'd move on.

Somethings aren't worth the effort. You could try a similar torrent with a different hash....

Thanks....last ques since you are far more knowledgeable than I. These files were labeled as Season 1, Season 2, etc. And within each file was each episode. Have you seen this or is it a sign of a virus or corrupted file?

That sounds like a legitimate torrent. Considering the nature of the torrent, I would expect season one to contain a master folder that had each many episodes for the season, as a separate files, within it. Depending on the source, they could be .avi, .wmv, .mp4 or any video extension. VLC should be able to play all that I've mentioned.

If you are not seeing such a structure, do be suspicious.
