It's been a few days since I've seen any spam at all.
This is better than I expected. Bye-bye spambots!

The newest hostiles.txt is in the system as of last night and really puts the boots
to those critters but it seems to be spreading slowly. Take a peek in your settings
folder to see if hostiles.txt is brand new and look in the AppSpecialShare subfolder
for hostiles.txt.39.zip and hostiles.txt.39.zip.torrent . If you don't see them yet
you can download them directly from these links, put them both into AppSpecialShare
and unzip hostiles.txt to the settings folder. Once you restart FrostWire the new list
will block the last of the spammers and with all that noise gone your download
performance should improve a bit and searching improve by a lot.

Add this to your Hosts Filter (Tools - Options - Hosts) right now: 208.93.4.0/21

I will add it to the filter downloads at the top of this thread right away.

I followed the instructions, added the line & all it seemed to do is to slow Frostwire down to a crawl. I still get the"Court settlement" nag on over 50% of the hits. There MUST be a better mousetrap.

Personally, I noticed a HUGE improvement when I followed Aaron's instructions from the page before dated Sun Jul 17, 2011 so I don't know if you have tried that. I am surprised you are getting the spam you say if you have done that.

I do wonder also exactly which Frostwire version you are using, and your java version (both are shown at Frostwire > help > about) as well as your processor speed and RAM.

I feel like a real meatball but here it goes::
I can not find (or figure out how to find) "the 5 catergories at the bottom", length, bitrate, size and created, to puy a check mark.
Please explain what I am obviously missing.

This thread refers to Frostire 4 (the old Gnutella version). If you are using Frostwire 5 it will not be relevant.

should probably get a scripter to help remould a copy of 4.21.8 so it can handle blacklisting all the spambots and then give us access to the modded version if at any time you have enough time to get this done since that would help so much :p

Yea these tips work very good but I like my Torrents... I like the new frostwire minus the javascript issues I'm having right now but yeah..

as far I am concerned it shows that it is a free bit torrent client

most appreciable thing about frost wire 4 is its itunes and internet radio compatible
