Frostwire deleting the songs i downloaded? etc..? help?

Hi I got the latest version of frostwire, 2 weeks ago, after holding onto the old frostwire for as long as I could before it was officially out of service... So I am kinda behind on what everyone else already knows about this new program. I somewhat understand it, i know how to transfer songs onto itunes, dowload songs, search for songs, and kind of understand torrents (but could use a clearer explanation?)...

However, the real problem I am having is that a few of the songs that i transfered onto itunes could not be played for a window popped up stating, "The song "yadayada" could not be used because the original file could not be found. would you like to relocate it?"

so I clicked "locate", but the song was not where it should be with all the other songs, nor was it in the frostwire library. It has done this with another song which i had to re-download in order to get it on itunes but now i discovered 5 other songs have the same problem. I dont reckon that i deleted the songs, although i was messing around with the torrents using the forums to figure it out...

I think that my problem is connected to the torrents, however I am not sure...

I would appreciate if someone would help me with this problem so i dont have to continue re-dowloading the songs.

Torrent Files upon completion of them downloading they will begin to seed.. This allowing other people to leech off you and others to help boost them to download it... If you want to stop seeding simply do the following listed in the code box below... This will also boost your download speed in the long run.. But then again if people don't assist in seeding then files won't be availible for download for other people.. Sharing is part of the P2P and Torrent downloading world...

Open Frostwire/Tools/Options/BitTorrent/Select Radio Button (Don't seed finished downloads.)/Click Apply/Click Ok/

This will allow you to move files between FrostWire and iTunes... If you want to get more technical after doing the above.. follow the next code box below..

start/Computer/C:/ |users/(account name)/FrostWire/FrostWire Data/

All your songs/files will be located here then you can transfer and do as you need with them to make them work for your needs..

If you are using drag and drop to relocate your files, that could be the problem. If a file is on the same physical drive, drag and drop will MOVE, not COPY the file. That will make it appear the the file has been deleted from it's original location, and effectively, it has been. It is no longer there.

Make sure that you are COPYING not MOVING.

It is not true to say that stopping seeding will boost your download speed in the long run.. Some ISPs do have a system meaning that uploading will slow your downloads … but not most. It is not the policy of Frostwire or any Torrent community to advocate stopping seeding in such a way.

To iTunes: In iTunes, there is an option in options/preferences > advanced: Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to the library. I have this enabled, which takes up more space but means that when I remove anything from Frostwire I still have the copy in iTunes. If you do not have this enabled, removing files from Frostwire will remove them from your computer..

I'm not sure if this is your issue but please see if it helps.

I just got the latest version last night and have been having the same problem. I stopped seed sharing, but my files are still disappearing. Is there another solution I can try to fix this?
