I need some help, My current nickname is klynn2013<3 &anytime I connect to chat is says my nickname isn't allowed&it discounts, so I don't know how to change it so that it will let met connect to chat. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi,

The < symbol is not permitted.

Go to Tools > Options > Community chat, and choses another nick press Apply > OK and restart Frostwire, then you should be good to go.

summarize. As of today, July 30th, all versions of Trillian are experiencing service outages when connecting to MSN.

Trillian 3.1 is using an older version of the MSN protocol. As of this week Microsoft has dropped support for this protocol. The quick fix is to upgrade to Trillian 4 (or the upcoming Trillian 5). Over the longer term, we will work on a patch for the Trillian 3 series. Once Trillian 5 is released we will begin phasing out support for 3, so please consider upgrading to 4 or 5 in the coming months.

I'm trying to get chat.frostwire.com to work with ubuntu 10.10 inbuilt chat client Empathy but I keep getting a network error I'm new to irc and linux so if you need more info just tell me what you want me to do.

I've tried with pidgin and all seems to be ok I think?
community chat on frostwire is not working for me either {I cannot login with my registered Nick Roo79}
my nick works fine on freenode and empathy works with freenode as well.

is the community chat down/not working? as I can not join any rooms from Frostwire,Pidgin{on Ubuntu 10.10} or Frostwire,Adium{on my iMac} and I cannot see the traffic light/ status info on viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5451

We don't monitor the forums 24/7 Sorry .... it maybe that chat was down. Right now it is working fine. If the problem persists could you please email chat@frostwire.com giving also your IP address as it is possible it has been blocked but the anti spam/bot filter.

I'm going out of my brain with this It was all working fine then all of a sudden I can't even identify my nick not even through frostwire itself. I just wanna scream!

it's Wednesday 16 feb 3:35AM where I am in South Australia right now and I cannot get on I've tried different nicks {even if frostwire gives me a guest nickname it tells me I can use that nick and to use another one} even with my own nick Roo79 if I type /msg NickServ IDENTIFY <password> hit enter nothing happens???
no matter what nick I use in frostwire once I click connect clicking chat rooms or disconnect does nothing at all!

please please help me before I go insane trying to work this out.

For those users interested in a non-java webchat to use, try the official new webchat at LOGIN. It requires no download and should work well on mobile browsers, unlike most of the other java webchats. It should load fairly quickly too.

It is currently in "beta" - some of the registration prompts may be a little buggy but I'm committed to improving it and I will be doing that in the near future. If you have any comments please feel free to send them via PM on the forums or using the "Feedback" pane (in the top left corner on the webchat!)

You can also integrate the webchat into your personal website in only a few clicks. In the same top-left menu click "Add the webchat to your site" button and a wizard will guide you through the steps.

The webchat also has many customization options which can be found via the Options menu.
