I have a Creative Zen and am having trouble getting my downloaded songs on to it. I noticed frostwire saves them as an .m3u file extension. I don't know how to change that. can anybody help?

m3u is not an audio file type, it is a playlist. You must use the files from your save folder not, as I suspect you are doing, using entries in the Frostwire library.

I could have sworn I put that in the post at the start of the thread ;)

I read the information posted in regards to problems with iTunes. However, it seems that due to the new software, iTunes 8, there is an incompatibility with Frostwire. The window that pops up reads "The Shared Library "Users Frostwire Tunes" is not compatable with this version of iTunes.

I never had this problem before and now that i only have the iTunes 8, i can no longer add my "Shared" File Folder to my iTunes Library. In addition, i can no longer revert back to any older versions of iTunes as well.

Any suggestions?

Hi .. I hope this is covered in viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4650

Personally I never used the shared Frostwire tunes, and as that is the only problem as far as I know, there is the option of adding your tunes to the iTunes Library .. and that way you have all your music together .. Let us know if you need more help. I know people have totally uninstalled itunes and reverted to an earlier version with no problem. Just make sure you don't somehow remove your tunes :)

That is more or less covered in the two posts just before yours... .. perhaps you missed them ;) If you add your music to your iTunes Library you should have no problems. iTunes have changed something in 7.7. and 8

As far as I can gather, if you first uninstall iTunes you will be able to install an older version. Your songs should not be affected, but I would strongly advise you to make a back up of your song files .. on an external drive or as a data disc(s) on cd rom. This is a good idea at all times .. in case of computer crashes etc. but since you have presumably not added the songs to your iTunes library I foresee no problems.

Let us know your Operating System if you need more help.

The checksums (or ipod attom whatever you prefer) where changed between itunes 7.6 and 7.7/8.0. They were changed so that they could support several new abilities such as genius. When you upgrade itunes it usually fixes it automatically. I do not know how to fix it on windows but I can on a mac.
