Both magnets and torrents are ways to allow you to access the data that is being shared by others. You can download a torrent and, then using various ways, open it in FrostWire to begin downloading and sharing. A magnet is shorter and uses a slightly different protocol to effect the same purpose. A magnet, basically, allows you do download a torrent, which allows you do download the shared data that you want.

For those hosting magnets and torrents, magnets take up a lot less space and in NO way have any of the data that is being shared. Torrents have no such data either, but too many do not really understand this and have caused problems for those hosting torrents, so there has been a move to magnets.

As far as you're concerned, you should click on the magnet or download, drag and drop the torrent to FrostWire and sharing should begin. Click on the link in my signature for some informative articles of FrostWire.
