FrostWire chat is an interface to IRC. IRC can be very unpredictable and unstable. I think, if you were banned that you would get a message so stating. It's more likely that the server is too busy or simply unstable. You could try using a different nick, and if you are using a VPN, you could select a different connection point.

OR simply wait an hour or so and try again. Closing and restarting FW wouldn't hurt either.

Getting into IRC is always accomplished with an element of luck.

I would love to be able to put a different nick in, but it won't load. It gives a frown face and says server refused connection. I've tried closes and reopening. I also deleted frostwire and reinstalled it. I'm at a loss, it's been doing this for about 3 days :(

I just tried to go into chat and got:
Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at irc.frostwire.com:8080.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

So, you are not the only one that can't connect.
Three days seem like a long time to be down, but it is what it is!
I'm going to try mIRC to see if I can get in. I'll post back later.

I did use mIRC and used two different addresses to try to connect. One timed out and the other refused,.

My guess is the IRC server has major issues.

There's nothing we can do except wait for it to start working.

I can get to the initial screen. Entering my ID and selecting the default channel, I get connecting, but it never does.

After some time, I get: Error Connecting (ETIMEDOUT)
