hey sorry that did nothing but waste more of your time.
the only other out there advice i can give is disconnect your internet (unless you have a static ip address)
leave it disconnected for half an hour plug your modem back in. and i dont know if mac computers do cleanups of cache files privacy files and regesteries and speedups, but just give it the big cleanup/speedup/defragup/optimizeup. check your internet speed, then give FW another go.

I've done just about everything, and it really tries to connect, but stalls after awhile. I hate to give up . . . .

Do any Mac users know if it is possible to go back to Leopard from Snow Leopard? I can't get ANY peer-to-peer program to work.

Returning to Leopard is no problem but you do need the installation disc for Leopard.
However if no programs will work with Snow Leopard I can only suspect that something in your security/firewall settings are causing the problems. If you could give us some details of your security/firewall set up, perhaps we can help, along with any error messages and a clearer explanation of "will not work".

I've posted as much detail as I could throughout my frequent posts, including the crash report from Frostwire. Cleared the gnutella and replaced it, trashed folders, and followed all advice. Since I couldn't get it to work, I decided to back up any information I wanted to keep, clean the hard drive, and reinstall Leopard. Tried Vuze first and it works just fine.

That's good to hear.
Have you attempted to install Frostwire as well and if so how did you get on?
