That is more or less covered in the two posts just before yours... .. perhaps you missed them ;) If you add your music to your iTunes Library you should have no problems. iTunes have changed something in 7.7. and 8

As far as I can gather, if you first uninstall iTunes you will be able to install an older version. Your songs should not be affected, but I would strongly advise you to make a back up of your song files .. on an external drive or as a data disc(s) on cd rom. This is a good idea at all times .. in case of computer crashes etc. but since you have presumably not added the songs to your iTunes library I foresee no problems.

Let us know your Operating System if you need more help.

The checksums (or ipod attom whatever you prefer) where changed between itunes 7.6 and 7.7/8.0. They were changed so that they could support several new abilities such as genius. When you upgrade itunes it usually fixes it automatically. I do not know how to fix it on windows but I can on a mac.

Sorry .. I was asleep.

It could be that the files are write protected .. especially if they are wma. Google with details of your player .. and read the manual carefully. I did have such problems with an mp3 player I had a while back and I quickly exchanged it for an iPod.

If you give us details of your operating system and player model we might be able to help but Googling should be much more productive.

I did as you suggested below. When I click on the shared folder in itunes it says, Frostwire tunes are not compatible with this version of itunes. I just downloaded itunes last week. Any suggestions??

Which Frostwire version do you have? with 4.17.1 or 4.17.2 this should not happen. In previous Frostwire versions it does.

I hope this helps.

I have the newest version of Itunes and FrostWire, 8.1.1 for itunes and 4.17.2 for frostwire. I've done all the instructions that everyone has put on this forum.....But it still doesn't work. I can't use any other Itunes cause i have the newest ipod.

So can anyone tell me what i can do?

Can you tell us exactly what you have done which might help us see where you might be going wrong? :)

I've tried moving the Shared file over to Itunes by doing the %homepath% in the start up menu. I've tried all different files for saving FrostWire tunes and doen the same thing with itunes but nothing seems to work.
