Help Please!

Postby MTM05 » Tue Jun 26, 2012 10:34 am

Hi, Had 5.3.7 installed, started acting up, (freezing etc) I had two songs that had just completed download, and a playlist that I created in March 2012 that had a few hundred songs in it that disappeared, but playlist was still there. I couldn't "rename" that list, nor would it allow me to create a new one. I uninstalled and re-installed 5.3.7, however when I opened newly downloaded Frostwire, the original with all of the problems reappeared????? Any ideas, or suggestions would be appreciated. :?

The basic check list for FrostWire problems include:
I'd guess java first. Also, (for Win7. Other systems will have similar files)
From file explorer, navigate to use c:\users\YourAccount
(assuming your system drive is c:\") and delete the folder: .frostwire5
Restart FrostWire and be alert for any error indications.

Hi Scottix. I had removed all folders/files. I will try again. No error messages appear during installation/operation. Interesting though, right after I posted original message, I went back into library and was able to create new playlist. However, for some reason I cannot place any songs into it. A song will show "importing" will show up in playlist for a second, then disappear????? Something I noticed, perhaps was there all along just don't remember it, the playlist (when empty) has a dotted line around perimiter???? I'm lost, used Frostwire for some time now, first time I've been having problems. AAARRRGGGHHHHHH

You probably don't need to remove all files and folders. MAYBE the .frostwire5 folder, but in all probability, nothing else needs removal.
Go to tools>options>Library and check the setting, there.
In fact look at ALL of your options. There really aren't that many. If you don't understand something and it looks right, leave it. If something looks flaky, try to fix it.

I've never used the playlist, so I have no experience with it. I'm old school and use winamp and VLC for my players. They have their own playlists that I know and use. If that thing is driving you crazy, you might give those a try.
