Can't Connect to network

I just downloaded FrostWire, and I'm not able to look for music. When I type a song in, it says "Frostwire is connecting to the Network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network. How do I connect to the network?

The basic check list for FrostWire problems include:

Latest Version of FrostWire http://frostwire.com
Latest Version of Java http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
Firewall allowing FrostWire
Router allowing ports and/or set for UPnP

DO check java, the fire wall, and any security programs you may have running.
If you have some other firewall or security center,(such as McAfee Security Center or zone alarm, etc.) make sure that it's allowing FrostWire, also make sure your virus program or malware monitors are not killing it.

hi I did what u suggested jva, no firewall and still doesnt start..it SAYS starting connection but never finishes doing so..

i dont want to update to anew version becuase the display is so different I didnt know how to use.. I hte changing for new displays and having to get
familarized all over again. tiring and time consuming...

what could be the cause..it isnt my internet connection which is fiber optic..better than broadband..it was working 10 days ago..and now it doesnt connect

any other suggestion?

Yes. Get a program that works on the functional P2P networks available, now.

Make sure, if you have one, that the router is allowing the FrostWire port and/or set for UPnP
