Postby SKILLZmakeKILLZ » Sun Jun 24, 2012 7:13 pm

Hi, when i try to open frostwire, it freezes on the load up around the community chat spot. When it does finally open it will be in my task bar but i can't see it at all, as if it was a transparent window.

If you click on the FW entry on the task bar what happens?

The basic check list for FrostWire problems include:
DO check java, the fire wall, and any security programs you may have running.

If you can't get it running do tell:
Operating system:
Java Version:
FrostWire Level Number:
Virus Checker:
Fire Wall:
Are you behind a router:
Using a proxy or VPN:
Type of internet connection:
Make sure, if you have one, that the router is allowing the FrostWire port and/or set for UPnP

Your configuration, with the exception of no virus checker, almost duplicates mine, so if your router is set for UPnP, it should be working.
I did ask: If you click on the FW entry on the task bar what happens? You didn't respond.

Are you current on all Microsoft updates?
Make sure FW is totally terminated, then start it up and just wait for a few minutes. What happens if you don't touch it for 5 or so minutes?

when i click the icon in the taskbar nothing happens, and it really slows down my computer. when i completely terminate FW and start it up, waiting 5 minutes; itcompletely loads and you can see the tab and the icon in the task bar like it was working normal, but when you click on the tab in the taskbar, its almost as if it opens but the window is completely transparent, i cant click anything on my desktop, but when i click the tab as if i were going to minimize it, the desktop becomes clickable again.

If you have done all that's been suggested, I have no clue.

It is possible that you have a malware infection. A properly functioning system should not act in that manner. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ has a decent reputation for diagnosis and the price is right - free. The fact that it is online means that you know it's not compromised.
