Connection bars color when activated

I am trying to search for a song and not sure it is not available or if I am not making a decent connection. I think when I open the program I usually saw the bars change color until they were all the same color but can't remember what color. All the bars are blue almost immediately so don't think I am connecting. I got only 3 hits however if not connecting how did I even get those???
