TORRENT DOWNLOADING BUGS in 6.4.4, 6.4.5 (BEING FIXED)

Since the last update, I have been experiencing a new bug. On Windows 10.

A file will download to 100% - then go to seeding.
If I log off Frostwire and log back on, it will either still show as 100% and begin downloading all over again, or will show as 0% with filesize downloaded being correct, but still download again.

I have had one 4Gb file download 3 times over, starting it's 4th time. This happens on nearly every file now.

Comments

  • 6.4.5 is equally as bugged. 6.4.3 was last stable build.

  • Hi everybody, did you guys give it a try?
Do things work better for you now, or are there some issues still remaining?

    Cheers
  • Still having this issue. And now - when attempting a download - it gets through a partial download and then says it's complete. It has only downloaded a fraction of the file.
  • It also appears that the only source it can find is TorLock
  • Completely uninstalled and re-installed. The "partial download" seems to have stopped - but the re-downloading of already downloaded files still happens intermittently
  • >It also appears that the only source it can find is TorLock

are you by any chance using FrostWire from a corporate network, or a university?

We get search results from all sources.
  • I use it from my home pc, but not able to do the download.
  • sounds like you need to check your firewall settings and let FrostWire open and accept connections.
Check your Windows Firewall Settings, if you see that FrostWire is white listed there, you might want to check any Antivirus or Internet Protection software you may have installed on your computer that might be blocking FrostWire.

If not the firewall settings, then the security program sometimes causes this problem. Check the security product allowed apps and software
  • Eset was causing this issue with me too. I enabled FrostWire from it's disallowed list.

I am using Kaspersky, means have to check its settings?

Yes, sometimes it disallows torrents files and app to work!
  • Most probably that security product is effing up with your torrent things. If not, then check the firewall settings.
  • hey, there is a setting on Kaspersky that's more like a firewall thing and it sometimes blocks torrents from downloding. uncheck that, and give the torrent downloader app or the website the admin permission. I was at a friend's place and he has this security thing on and was having the same problem, I helped him and it worked so I thought I should inform you too. Let me know when you've done it. :)
  • I just read your comment, thank you for updating. Will check it out in a couple of hours and then update you. Thanks again.

  • I just came back to my phone a few hours later and noticed the download paused halfway through. It continued once I turned the screen back ...
