If the current problem cannot be fixed then I suggest we all email-less registration for the time being. New users are unable to get on for help.

This would likely mean a rise in spam but surely we can cope with deleting posts manually for the time being...

I've been manually activating accounts that tried to subscribe during the outage. I figure if they're human enough to come and complain in person they are likely not spammers. Should we set up an email address and sticky post to deal with this or can you delete all inactive accounts older than the date you fixed the emailer?
