Best settings?

Dear forum,
At first I excuse me for my funny english - ist not my mother tongue.
I have a 32000/1024 Internet-Flat and when I do a speedtest, I get perfect results - Download: 6158 kBytes 7 Upload 243 kBytes.
Nevertheless my FW-download gets no drive. I´ve open the ports correctly and look for downloads with enough seeds.
Do someone know, whether i have to do changes in the settings?
Now I have no limits for Up-and Downloads. Is it better to set an Upload-Limit?

    Reading this may help you.

You may want to read all of my help pages as indicated by the link in my signature.

    Try this test:
In search types: select torrents unselect all others
Refine results: check isohunt and TPB, uncheck all others.
In the search box (the little magnifying glass): type UBUNTU
Press enter or click the magnifying glass
    What happens?
Can you download this file, and after 5 minutes, what is the speed?
  • Dear Scott,
once again my thanks for your help!
I´ve read your helpful post and the catfangz- side. So, I´m followed your tips and have reduce my Up- and Download-Speed. I will wait for the results.
And I made your test and have downloaded the ubuntu-torrent. In 4 minutes it was done. That´s not so bad or what do you mean?

Four minutes is freaking fast!!! That shows you what you can do if you get good seeds. Sometimes it simply is not your problem, but the problem with what's out there to receive from!

Sounds like you are good to go! Fantastic!
  • Scotti.......,
I am ashamed a bit because I´ve read your help pages but my English is not the best. Would you please be so nice to say me once again (last time), which values I should take in the configuration:
    Max. Downloads
    Global max. number of connections
Ma. Numbers peers pro torrent and
    Max. Uploads pro Torrent?

    To download a torrent:
    Max. Downloads: 3
Global max. number of connections: 300
Ma. Numbers peers pro torrent: 100
    Max. Uploads pro Torrent?: 4
    To Share only:
    Max. Downloads: 3
Global max. number of connections: 100
Ma. Numbers peers pro torrent: 5
    Max. Uploads pro Torrent?:4

Set set download speed to maximum
Set upload speed to about 25% of your line speed - or less. You do not want to allow all of you bandwidth to be for FrostWire.

These setting should be a starting point, only. There is no best value. It depends on what you are unloading and downloading, but this is a starting point for you to try.
  • Thank you so much, Scotty
