I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Java and Frostwire but no luck.

Please help!

  • Sorry forgot to say I'm running windows 7 32 bit
  • I am not familiar with this issue, but my first suggestion would be to use Revo Uninstaller to get rid of FrostWire and leftover traces of it, then download it again from (Reading through other forums on the web, I found that this problem may be the result of an illegitimate copy of the software.)

A different site suggested that a Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (MSCVR) package needed to be reinstalled/updated, which can usually be found through Windows Update, otherwise it is also available from the Microsoft website.

Another possibility is a virus infection, in which you should run a scan on your system if not already done.

    Hope this helps.
  • Thanks

I have used Revo Uninstaller for both FrostWire and Java. I also downloaded Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (MSCVR) from the Microsoft web site.

    I also ran spybot.

I stll get the same message.

    Any other suggestions?
  • Ok, got it working.

I have AVG and did a virus check and it cleaned up my system and now the program works.

  • That's Great :) Thanks for letting us know
  • Very good that you shared it. That's what I need. I recently found another article, did everything in their advice and got a dll file error. Thanks to my friend that told me this I hope this will not happen again. Who will have the same problem, download a new file and make a replacement. Good luck.
